Michael Allman (Greg Allman's son, raised by Greg and Cher) and I at the Marathon Country Club on April 11, 2021 — filming day for the movie "The Making of a Tribute Band in the Florida Keys."

It was a typical day in paradise — sunny, low 80s, cool spring April breeze coming off the Atlantic Ocean. As my beautiful wife and life partner Jamie drove us up the Marathon Country Club driveway, we could hear the crew setting up the stage and sound system. I felt that little butterfly in my stomach — the good one — and I knew it was going to be an excellent day.

Ray West did a fantastic job finding the right local musicians with the skill and willingness to take on the highly demanding musical and technical tasks at hand. Michael Allman himself pointed out what a badass guitar player Ray is.

My Florida Keys Led Zeppelin Tribute Band for the filming: Wayne Sorbelli (guitars & effects), David Bryce Warren (drums & lead vocals), Karri Daley (vocals), and Francois Gehin (bass, 9-string bass, keyboards, flute and other textures).

The movie — produced by Cliff Rydell — documents the making of a real tribute band in the Keys, starring Michael Allman with an Allman Brothers tribute, plus Pink Floyd, Iron Butterfly, Eric Clapton, and my Led Zep band.

I say my Led Zep act has "grown up" and is a teenager now — grown from simply the Key West Led Zeppelin Tribute Band into a full-scale Florida Keys Led Zeppelin Tribute Band. Like the Vikings we sing about in our opening song, "The Immigrant Song" — I plan on claiming the Keys territory by working hard enough to become the best at doing it.
