The Store Behind the Music
It started in Pittston, PA — Wayne's World, a music store that grew out of a lifelong obsession with guitars and the people who play them. From Pittston, the store moved to Dallas, PA, where Wayne kept building a community around music, lessons, and gear.
Eventually the road led south — all the way to Key West, FL, where Wayne rebranded as Island Guitar and planted roots at 1109 Key Plaza. In the Keys, Island Guitar became more than a store. It was a community hub: sponsoring UkeOut jam nights at the Green Parrot, organizing Nicky's Celebration benefit concerts, and giving hundreds of locals and tourists their first lesson on guitar or ukulele.
Now Wayne has walked away from the register and never looked back. No more retail — just music. He's on stage and in the lesson studio more than ever, playing and teaching everyone from road-hardened touring veterans to the absolute beginner picking up a guitar for the first time. Venice Beach, FL is the new home base. The music never stopped — it got louder.
